General description:Often times, people think that all retail positions are the same... and for the most part, they may be right But when it comes to the unique Popcorn we sell and to the people that work with us, we are definitely different Our stores are very entrepreneurial, and we have a unique approach to customer service. As a Retail Associate, you will be responsible for exceeding our customers' evolving expectations by providing "best-in-class" customer service and a pleasant and fulfilling shopping experience. Successful candidates will be given the opportunity to offer our customers our fantastic gourmet popcorn and an amazing moment of happiness As a Retail Associate you will work in a fast-paced environment where you will maintain a calm, professional demeanor while performing your duties in an accurate manner. The Retail Associate is expected to deliver exceptional customer service and meet sales and productivity goals. Key Responsibilities:- Engage customers in a courteous, helpful, and respectful manner, promptly and politely responding to customer inquiries and to customer requests for support.- Process customer transactions through the register and customer service desk. Collect and processes payment from customer and enter them into the register system (includes applying coupons, providing change and receipts, etc.)- Package customer purchases for removal from the store (includes wrapping, bagging, etc.)- Ensure all items intended for purchase are identified and properly scanned.- Execute activities related to store initiatives to offer customers additional products and services (e.g., special sale items, credit card applications, etc.)- Return misplaced products, customer returns, and other products gathered in the front-end to the correct location in the store.- Perform additional duties as required including, but not limited to, stocking, freight processing, price changes and cart retrieval.The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, efficiently follows all company best practice standards as outlined in all work centers, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Retail Associate is expected to be engaged in these tasks as assigned during all working hours and will be expected to perform a range of functions in the Store as business needs may require. The Associate may be requested to perform additional tasks in specific situations if performance of such tasks may help achieve Customer service and operational goals.Essential functions:- Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.- Treats all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; is friendly and professional at all times. Recognizes fellow Associates using Company recognition programs.- Assists Customers in any way necessary - is register-trained, assists Customers with merchandise, and answers Customer questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner. Greets all Customers by making eye contact, smiling and saying "hello" throughout the Store as well as saying "thank you" with every register transaction.- Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.- Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the Company's dress code at all times.- Performs daily assigned sizing and recovery per company best practice to ensure a neat, clean, and organized store that is well-maintained and efficiently merchandised to standards.- As a representative of FOL POPCORN USA Inc., demonstrates integrity and honesty in all interactions with Associates and Customers. Safeguards confidential information, cash, and credit card information, and merchandise.- Follows all policies and procedures concerning cash, check, credit card, and refund transactions, voids and offline procedures. Maintains a high level of awareness and accuracy when handling bankable tenders.- Demonstrates a sense of urgency to efficiently perform their role. Maximizes productivity by executing all Store best practices and minimizing steps and touches in their work flow.Competencies:- Customer Focus- Integrity and Trust- Communication Skills- Action Oriented- Drive for Results- Approachability- ComposureEducation / Experience / Qualifications:- High School diploma or equivalent desired.- 0-1 years of retail experience desired.- Effective communication and customer service skills.- Readily adjusts schedule, tasks, and priorities when necessary to meet business needs.- Effectively communicates with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative and pleasant manner.- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in a retail environment.Physical requirements / ADA:- Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PC as required.- Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the Store.- Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.- Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds.- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies.- Certain assignments may require other qualifications and skills.Supervisory responsibilities:None.
