Had him for O-chem 1 AND 2. He's friendly but make no mistake, he expects total information synthesis. He'll destroy you. Expect to devote 2-3 hrs a day. Just because you're intelligent and have a mechanical mind in no way means you'll be one of the few who just "get it". Note: I mean "few" very literally. great Luck.

Organic Chemistry 241 with Dr. Charles Marth for me was very great. He is very accommodating with helping you learn the material and is available for helping you understand the material. Attendance is required but is beneficial because even missing a day of work will put you behind in the course work. I would recommend him to anybody.

If you just come to class, and somewhat pay attention you will get a great grade. Actually listening to what he has to say will get you a long way. The guy knows what he is talking about, and his word is as great as gold.

Great teacher makes thing simple to understand and is always willing to help students. High 90's on all his exams with no curve. IF you go to class and do the homework you will like him

I had Dr. Marth for Organic Chem 241 and 242 during the summer. I was reluctant to take Dr. Marth but I really feel like I learned a lot. He requires homework but he just grades for effort and the homework helps you understand the material better. He is very accommodating if you ask and is willing to work with you. I definitely recommend him.

Class was great until the end of the semester. Very great lecturer. I like the homework because that's how I learn, but I wholeheartedly agree that his grading is NONSENSICAL. This prof does not go by his syllabus. I have a 3.9 gpa and deserved an A. He gave me a B and said he "thought that was a great grade". I don't care if he thinks that. I DON'T.
