Barry Drake, award-winning lecturer on the history of rock ‘n’ roll, will give a multimedia presentation on the music of the 1960s at Western Carolina University Wednesday, March 28.
The presentation will take place at 8 p.m. in Illusions nightclub, on the third floor of the A. K. Hinds University Center. Tickets are $2 for WCU students with valid identification, $4 all others.
Drake was a singer and songwriter signed to Capitol Records in the 1970s. During that time, he recorded three albums and toured the United States and Europe. In 1984, Drake started rock ‘n’ roll lectures, a multimedia presentation of the history of rock ‘n’ roll, and began speaking at college campuses.
Drake has been voted “Campus Lecturer of the Year” by the Nation Association For Campus Activities in 1995, 1996 and 1998-2000, and by Campus Activities Magazine in 1994, 1995 and 1998.
