Western Carolina University will offer a lifeguard training course on Saturdays, April 14, 21 and 28.
The three-part course will take place in WCU’s Reid Gymnasium from 2 to 6pm. A registration fee of $75 is required.
Otto Spilker, retired professor in the department of health and human performance, will serve as instructor. He is certified as an instructor trainer for lifeguarding, water safety instruction and various cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) courses.
Participation in the course is subject to the approval of Spilker. Participants must be at least 15 years of age.
