CULLOWHEE ? Western Carolina University is launching a new sequence of courses in Asheville on telecommunications and network system design. The first class, “Telecommunications Fundamentals” (EET 343), will be offered this summer on the Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College campus. The course will meet from 6 to 9:50 p.m. on Monday evenings beginning May 21. “Telecommunication specialists generally are involved with the interfacing of computer and electronic communications equipment,” said William Medaris, WCU associate professor of industrial and engineering technology. “These analysts perform network modeling, analysis and planning, and research appropriate hardware and software.
