Western Carolina has fired volleyball coach Stephanie Dragan after the Catamounts ended the 2008 season with a 6-26 record.
WCU was 3-15 in the Southern Conference and was tied with Appalachian State for last in the league’s North Division this year. In Dragan’s four seasons, the Catamounts’ overall record was 32-103.
A press release on Nov. 21 stated that WCU athletic director Chip Smith will begin a search for Dragan’s replacement immediately.
“We appreciate the work that Coach Dragan has done for the volleyball program,” said Smith. “We will move forward in our search and in our commitment to WCU Volleyball.”
