The Western Carolina Indoor Track and Field teams placed three finishes with a rank of third place or better in the Tiger Paw Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 14. The meet was part of a series of track and field events that will continue at Clemson University through February 28.
On the women’s team, sophomore Janet Carothers ran with a time of 24.80 in the 200-meter run to earn second place. Tia Jones made her mark earning fourth place in the women’s triple jump event with a 39ft-1 ¾ on her jump.
For the men’s events, senior Manteo Mitchell posted a second place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.65, falling just .06 away from first place. In the men’s long jump event, Alex Dollard finished in fifth place with a 6.85 meter jump.
