Junior Jada Bratton is the latest Western Carolina University student to join the Western Carolinian sports staff.
A Communications major with a concentration in Public Relations and minor in Sports Management, Bratton is a native of Gastonia, North Carolina. She graduated from Shelby High School and is the daughter of Robert Bratton and Yvette Fuller.
Bratton has had three weeks to get her feet at the Western Carolinian and is excited to see what the future holds.
“I am looking forward to writing about the sports of WCU because this experience will jumpstart my career in professional sports writing,” said Bratton.
Western Carolinian Editor-in-Chief and Sports Editor Justin Caudell said Bratton will be an asset to the sports department.
“Jada has shown she has a knack for sports writing,” said Caudell. “Her abilities will benefit not only the readers of the Western Carolinian, but the athletes she is reporting on.”
In addition to writing for the Western Carolinian, Bratton will assist with editing for a cooperative project with the Professional Writing department.
