Tuck River Clean Up, Saturday, April 26

Do not miss the 19th Annual Tuckaseegee River Clean Up on Saturday, April 26 from noon until 6 P. M. All you have to do to participate is dress for fun and plan to get dirty and possibly, wet. (Hmmm, wet and dirty, sounds fun already.) Wear shoes that will stay on your feet during a swim (sorry, no flip-flops or shower sandals will be allowed) and meet on the UC lawn at 11 A. M.

Base Camp Cullowhee and Last Minute Productions will take care of the rest and even feed you when you are done. Yes, you heard right – there is a FREE cookout afterwards. No need to bring your personal flotation device (PFD). Everything you need for a jolly good (and safe) time will be provided. Just bring a positive attitude and a willingness to participate in something worthwhile and fulfilling. You will be rafting, canoeing or walking on the river banks picking up debris from life’s rubbish.

Base Camp Cullowhee and Last Minute Productions will provide each participant with a PFD, paddle and instructions. You will be responsible for your participation and any equipment provided to you.

You will also be chauffeured to and from the clean up area. What more can you ask for?

Following the FREE food afterwards, participants will be eligible to win a mountain bike from Motion Makers in Sylva along with a slue of other prizes provided by this year’s sponsors. So, if you are someone that talks about a cleaner environment, this is your chance to do something about it! While our troops are off protecting our freedoms across the globe, we can contribute something too by cleaning up the homeland, starting with the Tuckaseegee River.

For more information call (828) 227-7206 or (828) 227-3633 and 227-3466. You can pre-register until the day of the event in the UC.
