Hello Blood Drive Supporters,
As you can imagine, hurricanes and even the threats of hurricanes have forced the cancellation of many blood drives recently around the east coast and in the gulf area. With the need for blood being a constant thing, these cancellations have taken a toll on the already low blood supply. Our team out of Asheville (and other areas) has been asked to step up and try to make up for the units not collected in the stricken areas. For this reason, I am once again appealing to the donors at WCU to help us through this. I feel very fortunate that Jill Lindsay had space available for us to add a drive on Tuesday, Sept 16th in the Multi-Purpose room of the Hinds Student Center. We will collect from 9:00AM – 2:00PM. We are going to try to collect over 100 units of blood that day. We will be bringing 6 of the double red cell machines and hope to maximize their use. If anyone has questions concerning double red cell donation, please use any of the contact information below to reach me.

As you have done in the past, please help insure the success of this EMERGENCY drive by passing this info along to anyone and everyone you can. There is not enough time to order advertising, telerecruitment, or direct mail from our sources. Remember, this is an EXTRA drive. The people who donated at the Faculty & Staff drive held on July 31st will not be eligible to donate until the regular FALL drives. Those drives will be held on October 7th & 8th . More info on the fall drives will be sent out soon.
