Outdoor Movie Night winds down with Babe showing August 14 in Monteith Park. Indiana Jones, Temple of Doom is showing September 11 at Bicentennial Park. Movies begin around 9pm, and concessions will be available. Contact the Chamber of Commerce at 828-586-2155.

Sylva at Night—Art, dining, music, and more! Come enjoy art galleries and shops the first Friday of every month. They will be open late for the public. 6-9pm.

Jackson County Farmers’ Market is open for the season (May-October). It is located Behind Pebbles on Railroad Ave. Hours are 9am to 12pm.

The Fine Art Museum at WCU starts its 2009-10 season with three exhibits. They will run from Saturday, Aug. 1, through Friday, Sept. 18. The exhibits are:

“New Gifts: Selections from the Collection of Professor Emeritus Perry Kelly”
“George Masa: A Photographic Vision of the Mountains”
“Dean and Nancy Cramer Lettenstrom: Delicate Balance – Painting + Drawing”
