Former WCU football player victim of fatal shooting

Western Carolina University 2011 graduate and former Catamount football defensive lineman Antonitius Aurelius “Buddy” Robinson was the victim of a fatal shooting, according to a post by the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department on nixle.com. The shooting occurred near his hometown of Bostic, N.C., on the afternoon of April 10.

At approximately 2:34 p.m., the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department received a call and responded to a residence at 909 Old Ross Road in Forest City, N.C. Robinson, 21, was found by authorities at the residence with multiple gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene.

Detective Ronnie Bailey at the Sheriff’s Department said that there is still no suspect but that “the case is being treated as a homicide.”

Bailey and his staff have yet to determine a motive.
