Western Carolina University inducted new members into the Catamounts’ Athletic Hall of Fame during the football team’s halftime in a game versus Chattanooga on Saturday, Nov. 1.
The Hall’s five newest inductees include former football players John Ruta (1962-65), Alonzo Carmichael (1983-86) and Brad Hoover (1996-99), along with track and field star Tony McKennie (1986-90) and baseball standout Jason Beverlin (1992-94).
Hoover is currently a fullback for the NFL’s Carolina Panthers.
