Western Carolina University is hosting its annual Mountain Heritage Day 5K Walk/Run in front of the Stillwell Building on Saturday, September 24 at 8 a.m. Join alumni, students, and staff by racing through the hills and valleys of Cullowhee on a beautiful, crisp, fall morning!
The race marks the beginning of Mountain Heritage Day, a traditional festival at WCU that celebrates Appalachian history, which will follow on the Intramural Fields at 10 a.m.
Registration for the race is now open and will feature early bird pricing of $15 through September 16. Free t-shirts will also be distributed to the first 100 registrants and everyone is encouraged to participate, regardless of experience.

All funds collected from registration and sponsorships will be donated to the Sport Management Association (SMA) Scholarship, given to a student within the SMA club in April.
