After months of planning and behind-the-scenes work, the Division of Information Technology (DoIT) launched its new website, DoIT.wcu.edu, Tuesday, August 3. DoIT.wcu.edu provides WCU students, faculty, staff, families and guests with a main point of entry to IT services and help.
Visitors to the site will easily find information on IT services and how to access them, as well as information on how to get help. Alerts, news and events are displayed on the homepage, which features a system status monitor, weekly updates and upcoming training opportunities.
One of the most prominent features of the site is the “audience gateways” for students, faculty and staff, and families and guests. These gateways bring together the most requested or sought after IT information and resources for each of the three groups so that they can conveniently find their most important information in one place.
The division has undergone recent changes to its support services. These changes are reflected on the site:
– Formerly known as the IT Services Help Desk, the IT Help Desk provides support by phone (227-7487 and 866-928-7487 toll free), e-mail (ithelp@wcu.edu) and online (ithelp.wcu.edu).
– New to campus, the Technology Commons is the place for WCU students, faculty and staff to receive assistance and support in person. Located on the ground floor of Hunter Library, the Technology Commons offers the following services: Class TIPS, IT Help Desk walk-up counter, hardware support, Hunter lab and student computing. Visit the Technology Commons to learn more about these services.
For IT services and help, visit DoIT.wcu.edu or contact the IT Help Desk at 227-7487, 866-928-7487 (toll free) or ithelp@wcu.edu.
